Medals and T-shirts
When can I collect my medal?
Collection is from Pirates Club on any Saturday on Sunday from 3-25 July between 7:30am-10am. Please be prepared to show the volunteer your final confirmation email or know your race number. Remember, you don’t need to collect before you run.
Will I get a t-shirt?
•If you are able to select a t-shirt size when entering you will receive one of our limited t-shirts when collecting your medal.
No T-shirts will be available to buy on collection days!
Starting and Finishing at Pirates Club
What time does Pirates Club open?
Pirates Club is at 25 Braeside Road, Greenside. The club gate will be open from 6am with a volunteer car guard on duty. Please consider tipping the car guard and please do not leave any valuables in your vehicle.
Are there toilets and showers?
Due to the Clubhouse being closed during Lockdown Level 4 ablution facilities will unfortunately be restricted. Toilets at the Green Room (near the start) will be open Tues-Sun 8am-5pm.
How do I find the Start/Finish?
The ‘official’ starting point is at cnr of Link Road and Cruden Bay Road just past our gate to The Green Room, bowls greens and tennis courts and will be marked with a flag.
The official finish is through the main gate, along the parking area and onto fields below the Clubhouse. Please do not run across the fields if there is any sport activity taking place, run around the perimeter.
Are refreshments available at Pirates Club?
No refreshments will be available from Pirates Club during the current Lockdown Level 4 restrictions
Timing and Results
How does timing work?
There are no timing chips. You will need to time yourself using your watch or phone and submit your race number and elapsed time at https://bit.ly/submitmytime
If you have a GPS tracking app/watch/device please also submit a public GPS activity link to be eligible for certain prizes.
How often is the leaderboard updated?
The leaderboard will be updated at least twice every weekend. The last updated time will be visible, please do not submit your result mutiple times!
Do I need to wear a facemask when running?
According to the adjusted Level 3 regulations (34) 4 You are NOT required to wear a facemask when ‘vigorously’ exercising outdoors provided you keep a distance of 1.5m between yourself and any other person
We have not found any update on these restrictions under the adjusted Level 4 regulations.
However, we strongly advise at the very least keeping a buff on and raising it when approaching any other person.
Will there be any crowds or queues?
If you opt to run the route from Pirates Club please keep in mind that you can do the course at any time and you have the option to collect your t-shirt and/or medal on any Saturday or Sunday from 3-25 July between 7:30am-10am. Please do not run or gather in groups during the Lockdown Level 4 period.
What other COVID-19 measures are in place?
You will be required to wear a buff or facemask when on the club property and to sanitise before collecting t-shirts and medals. Please note that other than for t-shirt and medal collections from 7:30-10am on Saturdays and Sundays the club is not open until 11 July in accordance with Lockdown Level 4 restrictions.
Running the Route
Will the route be marked?
The route will be discreetly marked on the road with skulls and arrows at any turns from 3 July. If you are not familiar with the route please download a map or GPS track file available below
Is the route safe?
There will be NO MARSHALLS OR TRAFFIC OFFICIALS along the route so please run smart and safe: keep to the right, facing oncoming traffic, don’t run with earphones so that you remain aware of your surrounds. The route does not go through any areas that are considered unsafe or isolated.
Is there water along the route?
PLEASE DO NOT LITTER!
If you are running the Super-Fast Pirates 10km Race route then make sure you don’t go off-course and miss that PB!
